Have you ever wondered why you are where you are? What led you to that place? What steps you took on your travels? I have sat many nights thinking about this. How did I end up where I am? What did I do?
In meditation one night I had a vision of a pattern. This pattern was 4 circles with arched lines connecting them. Each circle and each line had a word in or on it. The first letters of the words in each circle spelt "BARD". Barding is an act of exchange, you have something I want and I have something you want so I will exchange my item for yours and we can grow together. Society grew with this concept. In history a Bard was a specific class of poet from the Irish, Scott's and Welsh culture. Bard's used rhyme to memorize the history of their people, from tribal wars to genealogies.
This pattern shown to me, BARD is actually an acronym, "B.A.R.D.", and it stands for:
Belief – Action – Result – Destination

Belief
One definition of belief is "the state of mind in which a person thinks something to be the case, with or without there being empirical evidence to prove that something is the case with factual certainty." When someone has a belief in something it drives them to follow that belief. When I was a kid I remember watching the X-files and Fox Mulder searching for the truth. The shows tag line was "The truth is out there" and his belief that aliens existed drove him to where he eventually ended up. The stronger the belief that someone has, the stronger the drive it causes. This leads us to the next point – Action.

Action
One definition of action is "the process of doing something, typically to achieve an aim." Your belief in something drives you to do something, it causes your actions! Like Fox had a belief that the truth was out there, he searched for it. His belief was so strong that he went to great lengths to find the truth! Like the above diagram, when you have a belief and that intersects with the truth, you gain knowledge. For Fox, that knowledge could have been that aliens are not real, and that his belief guided him in the wrong direction. This leads us to the next point – Results.

Results
One definition of results is "to proceed as a consequence of actions, circumstances, premises, etc.; be the outcome." Your actions create results. The result will always fall into 2 categories: 1 – Your beliefs are correct or 2 – they are not what you thought. When you are at this point you are at the "end result" the "be the outcome" part of the definition above. This leads us to the next point – Destination.

Destination
One definition for destination is "the place to which someone or something is going or being sent." Your results have sent you to your destination. In the X-files show, Fox Mulder found out that not only are aliens real, they abducted his sister and are continually performing experiments on humans. Your destination will cause one of two things to happen, either your beliefs are true or not. This leads us to the final point – The pattern.

The Pattern
One definition of pattern is "give a regular or intelligible form to." I believe that humans live their lives through this pattern. They have a belief in something, that belief creates an action. This action causes a result and that result brings them to a destination. If this destination justifies their belief then they continue with the pattern. If the destination does not justify their belief then the pattern reverses.
We look to our results to figure out what happened, then to our actions and eventually back to what we first believed. If you're at a destination that you do not want to be at, look to your results. How did this happen? The results are what got you to your destination. So if that is not where you want to be, change your results. How do you do this? Change your actions. How? Change you beliefs. Then the pattern repeats!

The question the Pattern answers?
Am I my Beliefs?
